Canadian Diabetes Educator (CDE) Virtual Study Group


This virtual study group will guide and support health professionals in understanding the core competencies for Diabetes Educators identified by the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board. This course is intended to support health professionals with previous knowledge and experience in diabetes education who are preparing to write/consider writing the CDECB national exam.

Weekly sessions will be held over an 18 week period using a combination of webinar technology and online learning management system. Live weekly webinars will be offered on a set day and time every week. Webinars will also be recorded, archives and made accessible for on-demand viewing. The online learning management system will be available 24/7 for the duration of the study group. As this is a national study group designed for working professionals, it is not mandatory requirement to participate in the “live” webinars in order to participate in the study group.

Sessions will be held using webinar and teleconference technology. Sessions start January 22, 2019, 6:00 – 7:00 EST and continue, every Tuesday, for 18 weeks, ending May 21, 2019. This includes 17 weeks of instruction, one reading week and one post-exam reflection session.
