Start an exciting career in health care!

The HCA-ESL program provides ESL students the opportunity to improve their English while developing the specific knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as a Health Care Assistant in both community and facility settings. While completing their HCA studies, ESL students will receive daily support by an ESL learning specialist. Emphasis will be placed on developing language and communication skills relevant to the health care field. Students must complete HC-ESL1: English for Health Care (100 hours) or equivalent english course* as a prerequisite for program admission. Under the direction and supervision of a health professional, graduates provide person-centred care aimed at promoting and maintaining the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of individuals and families receiving health care services.

SE Career College aims to provide a new generation of Health Care Assistants with the skills they need to help our aging population. Graduates will have the opportunity to make a big impact on society with a rewarding career!

As Canada’s largest not-for-profit home care organization with over 9,000 Leaders of Impact, we understand what it takes to succeed in this industry. Graduates of our HCA-ESL Diploma Program will gain the knowledge and confidence to help clients and their families in a variety of health care settings.
