Second Career Funding

For those who qualify, Second Career Funding is a government program for those who have been laid off, to gain new skills and training to find employment in high demand fields.

Second Career may cover costs such as: tuition, textbooks, transportation, basic living costs and child care.

Who can apply?

  • Someone who has been laid off and has not been working
  • Someone who has been laid off and is working temporary jobs to cover basic costs
  • Someone who is receiving Employment Insurance (EI) or has in the past
